By including this it helps establish how close they are, while Wraith, being the person he is, doesn’t really care and is more focused on their next course of action, getting to the base and finding out what the Samurai are up to.

I felt that having a group shot of them would both look good but also give the reader a better look at them as a team and would lead into the next scene quite nicely. If this were to be an animated series, then this part would mark the middle point of the episode and cut to advertisements.
